Speaking to the Bosnian channel N1 as fighting escalated in May 2021, Omar Shaban traces the escalation to events in Jerusalem over the preceding two weeks: worshippers barred from al-Aqsa in the last days of Ramadan and attempts to evict some 28 families who had lived in East Jerusalem for 70 years so their homes could go to settlers, which he calls a violation of international and humanitarian law.
